Ok, I got it
Lol. These are mostly love fanfics. I've been wanting to write a Gaara love story for a while, and now I'm finally getting to it! Whee! I'm so proud of myself!
Lol. They're still "work-in-progresses", but I'll try to work on them as often as I can.
First Love
By Emma Cormack-Pitts (crazy name, I know...)

Akimoto Emi was in her home village of Suna, mowing lawns for her summer job. She had just finished the last of the day, and was heading home. When she turned onto her street, she thought she saw a dark figure in the shadows. Looking behind the tree, she gasped as a boy came out from behind. This boy.... the hate of the village.... the terror.... the danger.... Sabaku no Gaara. The Jinchuuriki of Suna. Akimoto took a step back, her legs shaking beneath her weight.

"G-gaara..." she said, her voice trembling. Gaara smiled at her, to her surprise. Not a smile of hate... a smile of concern, and love. Akimoto was too shocked to even speak. Luckily, she didn't have to. Gaara was the next one to talk.

"Akimoto Emi," he said in his husky voice, making the girl's heart pound in her chest. "I was wondering when I'd see you again..... Ever since about 3 months ago, you owed me a duel. I've been waiting." he smirked, the corners of his mouth curling up.

Akimoto swallowed, nodding. She remembered. 3 months ago, she had run into Gaara, promising a duel if he would let her pass without harm. He always liked a challenge, so he let her go. She had tried her best to avoid him, not only because of the duel.... but because she was madly   in love with him, and didn't know what might happen if she hurt him in any way. Not that it was possible; Gaara's sand shield protected him from almost anything.

"Well?" Gaara's voice rang out, breaking Akimoto's concentration. "Are we going to fight or what?" That voice..... irresistable.... she HAD to fight him... it might be her only chance to get close... Taking a step forward, she opened her mouth. "Ok. We were going to fight, right? Let's do it," she smirked, knowing that she was going to lose.

"Heh. I was wondering when you'd give in... So, shall we go to the battle arena?" he asked, turning to go to the fighting area. The battle arena was just a small area of land that nobody owned that the children of the village made to train, and sometimes, if they found a partner, to fight. Akimoto's heart was still pounding. To think that within a matter of minutes, she would be fighting one of the strongest ninja in the world.

When they finally reached the arena, her legs almost gave out from underneath her. Gaara looked at her with a funny looking smile on his face.
"Are you alright? You almost fell over..." he said, his voice still full of concern. Akimoto nodded, stepping onto the field. Preparing herself mentally was a challenge, since most of her mind was filled with swirling thoughts of Gaara.

Shaking her head to rid the thoughts for the moment, she walked onto the feild, taking the ends of her headband and tightening them.   She faced her opponent. It was going to be hell to fight her love, but she figured that she had to in order to get out alive. Gaara looked at her, smirking.

"You're nervous," he said, his eyes glowing. Akimoto shuddered, showing her feelings, but also at the same time, the shame. She stared at Gaara with mixed emotions. "Yeah. I am." she replied, her hair blowing in the hot wind.

Gaara stared back. He was ready for a fight. He uncorked his gourd, sand rushing out immediately.

Grawrg. Mom's making me go to bed. I'll work on it tomorrow!
